You can be charged for registering for Self Assessment late, for filing your tax return late and for paying your tax bill late. And it doesn\u2019t end there. You can be charged interest on top of this which increases the longer you leave it \ud83d\ude31<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019ll cover how much you pay for each in a moment (or you can just use the calculator above for instant results!) but let us first tell you how you pay:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Faster payments (online or by telephone banking)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CHAPS (but be aware this will cost you money on top of the bill)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Credit\/debit card online<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Direct from your bank<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are the fastest ways to pay with payment most likely landing on the same day or the next day.
