I.e:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you see BR, D0, or D1, it means that you\u2019re getting zero tax-free personal allowance. If you\u2019re on any of these codes and it\u2019s not from a second job, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/contact-hmrc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">contact HMRC<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you\u2019ve just started a new job &#8211; you may want to contact HMRC just to ensure that you\u2019re not on an emergency tax code<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you\u2019ve cleverly beaten HMRC to it and suspect you\u2019re paying too much or too little tax&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can contact HMRC by giving them a ring on 0300 200 3310 or you can create a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/personal-tax-account\">personal tax account<\/a> to access their online services &#8211; whatever works best for you!
