Waiting for your tax rebate can sometimes feel like an eternity. Once your accountant has sorted, filed and submitted your tax return, it\u2019s up to HMRC to get you your funds. But what does that mean exactly? We thought you\u2019d never ask!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s a tax rebate again?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A tax rebate is a tax \u201crefund\u201d, which means that you paid more tax than you needed to for a particular tax year. The correct terminology, if you want to be fancy, would be that you\u2019re \u201cdue a tax rebate<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HMRC now need to give it back to you but most of the time you need to claim it yourself. Sometimes, HMRC does it automatically. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
