This basically means that any pure business expense that you make can be deducted from your overall earnings. You do this to reduce the amount of tax that you pay or rather, you only pay tax on your profits instead of your gross earnings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expenses for carpenters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Still not sure what we mean? Here\u2019s a quick list of expenses that you can remove as a self-employed carpenter:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Specialised clothing<\/li><li>Equipment<\/li><li>Subscription costs for trade publications<\/li><li>Mileage<\/li><li>Parking costs (if you\u2019re on a job, not generally)&nbsp;<\/li><li>Toll costs<\/li><li>Website costs<\/li><li>Accounting fees<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These are just a few examples, but you can actually expense anything within reason. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s really important to keep your spending and income organised and recorded.
