Hey, have you sorted your tax return yet?

Avoid costly mistakes and let Taxfix take care of it for you. Our UK-accredited accountants make filing quick and stress-free, starting from just £99.

So let’s get into these benefits of filing a tax return with us, and how we make it a completely hassle-free (and well-loved) experience!

Why Customers Rate Taxfix

Customers rate Taxfix for a simple, smooth process from sign-up to filing. Our insights draw on Trustpilot UK reviews, feedback from our support team, and independent reviews by TechRadar and Generation Money. Here are the main strengths:

  1. Easy-to-use platform
  2. Speed and efficiency
  3. Support
  4. Price

An easy-to-use, straightforward platform

Filing with Taxfix is straightforward. You answer a few short questions, upload your documents and let your accountant prepare your return. You approve it before anything goes to HMRC. Here’s how each step works.

Step 1: Online filing and Making Tax Digital

Self Assessment returns are filed online with HMRC. For the 2025/26 tax year, the online deadline is 31 January 2027.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax (MTD) is HMRC’s digital way of keeping records and sending updates. Whether you need to use it depends on your qualifying income. This is your total income from self-employment and property, before expenses are deducted. Employment, dividend and pension income doesn’t count.

HMRC is introducing MTD in stages:

  • Over £20,000 (2026 to 2027 tax year): from 6 April 2028
  • Over £50,000 (2024 to 2025 tax year): from 6 April 2026
  • Over £30,000 (2025 to 2026 tax year): from 6 April 2027

Step 2: Choose the right plan to fit your needs

Taxfix offers three tax return plans. Each one is filed by a UK-accredited accountant and covered by our Accuracy Guarantee.

  • Prepared & Filed Accurately: your accountant prepares and files your Self Assessment. You can message them while your return is being filed.
  • Filed, Optimised & Protected: everything in the first plan, plus a consultation call on tax optimisation and HMRC audit and letter support.
  • Filed + a Year-Round Tax Partner: everything in the second plan, plus year-round access to your accountant, an annual tax efficiency review and HMRC agent representation.

If your situation is straightforward, the first plan may be enough. If it is more complex, or you want support all year, the third plan may suit you better.

Step 3: Upload all your documents from your phone or laptop

You can upload documents from your laptop or computer, or straight from your phone. On your phone, choose a photo from your photo album, or open an email attachment and upload it from there. Check that each file is clear and readable before you upload it.

Step 4: The questions to answer are short

Our questions are short and to the point. Answer them online, tick the options that apply to you, and move on to the next stage. After a couple of minutes, we have what we need to start preparing your tax return.

Step 5: Matching with an accredited accountant

Once you’ve chosen your plan and paid, we match you with a UK-accredited accountant.

If your return is less straightforward, such as one with rental or investment income, we try to match you with an accountant who specialises in that area, where possible. We can’t guarantee a specialist in every case.

If you rent out property, see our landlord tax service. If you have investment income from property, shares, crypto or forex, see our investor tax service.

Step 6: Message your accountant online

Your accountant is there to help. You can message them online while your return is being filed. Depending on your plan, you can also ask about your return, or about any tax topic, if you have a year-round plan.

Step 7: Sign off on your tax return

Once your accountant has prepared your return, they’ll send it to you to approve. Check it carefully. If something doesn’t look right, let them know before anything is filed.

Step 8: Your accountant files your return

When you’ve approved your return, your accountant sends it to HMRC. You’ll receive a confirmation once it’s filed, and that’s one less thing to worry about.

Speed and efficiency

Taxfix is designed to be quick, so your tax return doesn’t have to be a waiting game. Our UK customers give us 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot, from 7,491 reviews (as of October 2026).

 1. Your accountant carefully prepares your return

And the best thing about it? Being fast doesn’t mean that your accountant isn’t preparing your tax return carefully. In fact, quite the opposite. Keep reading!

2. You can approve the final draft in minutes

And once you’ve approved the final draft of your tax return, your accountant will file it with HMRC. You’ll receive a confirmation and then it’s done! A load off your mind knowing that you’re ahead of the tax game.

Where Taxfix fits best

Employed or self-employed filers with one or two income sources, including one rental property. If you rent out a property alongside your job, see our landlord tax service.

Consider Tax Advice: Some situations need more than a tax return. Consider a tax advice session if your situation involves joint ownership of property, a decision about setting up a company, or non-standard income. A tax return reports your income for the tax year. Tax advice helps you understand your options before you decide what to do.

If you’re not sure which applies to you, our support team can point you in the right direction. They can’t give personal tax advice, but they can explain where to go next.
